May 9, 2011: video posted
Cartoon Physics' official documenter; Ernie, obtained some video footage during the band's legendary February show at the Zoo. This footage has finally been put through the various requisite digital sausage-makers to produce a product that is able to be viewed over the interweb, so we have posted it here for your entertainment and edification. The song is "Four Stroke Cycle Petrol Engine". It is a reasonably performed version and the live sound is quite good. To view, jump to the media page, and turn up your speakers. Enjoy! ... to top
May 1, 2011: demos posted
In commemoration of the band's impending visit to James North's studio in St Lucia - whereupon they intend to record a spiffy version of "Auchenflower to Central Station" for the purpose of impressing it on music consumers and radio station programmers alike - we have posted seven home-produced demos of a bunch of songs (including Auchenflower) that are either in the band's current live set, or will probably be in it before too long. The idea is to give you some insight into the original musical ideas behind these songs, and how the band went on to develop them. Please note, demos, by their very nature, are not supposed to be polished, consumer-friendly audio artifacts, they are more like a rough sketch, or a sort of basic guide for the band to develop something out of. Nevertheless, there is some interesting listening here, so hop over to the media page and have a listen. ... to top
March 1, 2011: Zoo live recordings posted
You may well wonder what the band have been up to given the lack of "News" posted here for some months. The reason is that, apart from taking it easy and drinking lots of beer over Christmas, the boys have been working hard, playing a flurry of live shows at various venues around the Brisbane inner city. On Friday, February 11, CP played a headline gig at Brisbane's legendary Zoo and a recording was taken out of the front of house mixing desk. Four songs from the night ("Four Stroke Cycle Petrol Engine", "Nuclear Winter", "Beautiful Eyes" and "There She Goes") have been posted on the Media page, for your listening pleasure. Enjoy! ... to top |
