May 30, 2010: new drummer
CP's ranks have again swelled with the addition of Simon Thomas on drums. Simon brings to the band a wealth of live experience from supporting Marrillion in Swansea, Wales (UK) to playing at hotels and “upmarket birthday parties” in Oman in the Middle East Mac is well pissed off at having been put out to pasture but he will be remembered for the two and a half years of solid service he put in. Having now converted themselves from a two-piece recording project to a full 4-piece band, CP are now putting in the hours to convert the recordings of the past two years into a rivetting live set, as well as continuing work on the next album.
May 24, 2010: Pete's side project
Pete has started work on a side project with classically-trained vocalist: Luisa Cavallaro. Luisa trained under Maggie Noonan and has been involved in classical and operatic projects for a number of years. Her debut CD: "Embrace" was released a few years ago in a limited run which sold out. The new project will merge Luisa's classical vocal style with more contemporary music incorporating electronics and heavilly effected guitars. A style not dissimilar to the music created by the Cocteau Twins in the 80's and 90's. A website has not gone up for the new project; it doesn't have a name yet, but material is being developed and major progress will be reported here.

The final recording sessions for cp's upcoming EP took place in the blue room over the weekend. The sessions involved Mark putting down bass tracks for two of the songs, and Mark's daughter; Sarah playing some gorgeous cello parts. Many hours of mixing still lie ahead, though hopefully the end target (a completed EP) is now within sight. |
